BrauBeviale is one of the most important capital goods trade fairs for the beverage industry worldwide. With around 1,100 national and international exhibitors and around 40,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad, BrauBeviale has nevertheless retained its family character. BrauBeviale originated from a training event of the association Private Brauereien Bayern. The association is still the conceptual sponsor of BrauBeviale and has intensely accompanied the growth of the trade show.
The next BrauBeviale will be held at the exhibition center in Nuremberg
from November 28 - 30, 2023.
Since 2004, the "birth year" of the European Beer Star, BrauBeviale has been the proud host of one of the largest international beer international beer competitions.

The foundation stone for what later became BrauBeviale was laid in Bamberg in 1957. Brewery owners and brewmasters met there for the "advanced training course for brewery owners, brewmasters and junior staff".
As early as 1961, the conference had to be moved to larger premises in Nuremberg due to a steady increase in the number of participants. While technical and technological issues were in the foreground at the beginning, a business management part was added at this point. Decisive key moment: Companies recognized the potential of this conference and began to display their goods on small tables. Thus the trade fair was launched.
More and more participants made changing venues in Nuremberg necessary. In 1967, the conference was held for the first time in the Meistersingerhalle.
In 1978, the event had reached a dimension that made it necessary to move to the halls of the Nuremberg Exhibition Center. The most decisive step towards professionalization was the start of cooperation with NürnbergMesse.
Two years after this milestone, the show was freed from the long, unwieldy name and replaced by the short, catchy name BRAU. A name that, in retrospect, was chosen with foresight even back then and quickly caught on with international visitors as well.
By 1981, the number of exhibitors had risen to 200 companies from the supplier industry, who welcomed over 3,000 trade visitors to an exhibition area of 8,500 square meters. An incredible success in such a short time, which prompted the Private Brauereien Bayern to link further high-profile activities in the industry to the trade show concept. The "Bayrische Bier-Orden" has been awarded annually at BrauBeviale since 1979 to friends and supporters of the medium-sized brewing industry.
BrauBeviale - the addition of the word "Beviale" to the name has impressively documented a further stage of development since 2002. The trade show had long since developed from an industry event for brewers to a meeting place for the entire beverage industry.
Since 2004, the international beer competition European Beer Star has been awarded at BrauBeviale. The competition has developed into one of the most important awards in the brewing industry - both nationally and internationally. In the course of a tasting by an international jury of experts, gold, silver, and bronze are awarded only once per category according to the Olympic principle. Since the beginning of the competition, the winning beers and their makers have been honored at BrauBeviale in Nuremberg.
As a "subsidiary" of BrauBeviale, Beviale Moscow was held for the first time in 2015. Since its premiere, the trade fair in Moscow has established itself as a holistic trade fair for the Russian beverage market. The trade show covers the entire process chain from production to marketing.
What began with Beviale Moscow in Russia quickly developed into an ever larger trade show network. Several beverage trade fairs around the globe are gathered under the name Beviale Family. The NürnbergMesse Group thus demonstrates its competence in the beverage industry on the international stage. In addition, the Beviale Family is active in around ten countries worldwide with different event formats and cooperations adapted to the respective target market.
If you visit BrauBeviale today, it is hard to imagine the beginnings of the industry event a good 60 years ago. In the meantime, the trade event traditionally held in November is regarded worldwide as one of the most important capital goods exhibitions in the beverage industry. With a stable number of 1,100 exhibitors, the range of products on show at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center is comprehensive. The more than 32,000 trade visitors each year come from all areas of the company, and the high proportion of decision-makers is impressive. Accompanying forums are also held today under the umbrella of BrauBeviale, which take a close look at trend topics and new developments. Particularly important - in addition to all the technical information - however, is the personal dialog and exchange with colleagues as well as the formation of exciting networks. As initiator and conceptual sponsor, the Private Breweries of Bavaria have created a sustainable platform with BrauBeviale. Together with NürnbergMesse as a partner, the course is also set for success in the future!
