WINNERS 2010
It is hardly surprising that the seventh European Beer Star, which was held in 2010, scored another participation record: In early October, 955 beers (2009: 836) from 34 countries were assessed by an expert jury, which the organizers - the Association Private Brauereien - had prudently expanded to 88 tasters. Some entirely new names in the list of winners came as a surprise. Despite some multiple awarded breweries, the European Beer Star 2010 has become increasingly competitive. All the awarded breweries are listed in the List of winners 2010 (see below).
The public prizes Consumers' Favorites were chosen from the ranks of the European Beer Star gold medal winners. Visitors at the Brau Beviale in Nuremberg chose their favourite beers at a blind tasting session. This coveted public prize was also awarded at the award ceremony on 11th November 2010 in addition to the gold medal for the individual category:
